Updated Processing Times – Current as of May 28, 2026
Currently, the passport processing times are as follows:
Routine Service: 4-6 weeks
Expedited Service: 2-3 weeks
Processing times begin the day they receive an application at a passport agency or center; not on the day the customer applied for a passport at an acceptance facility. We are no longer using door-to-door timeframes to calculate our estimated routine and expedited service times.
